OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (full-time/hourly):

The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides evaluation, assessment, and therapeutic intervention services to children within our early childhood education (ECE) program, in our therapy spaces, in the community and in home-based settings. This role involves identifying developmental, sensory, fine motor, and functional needs; developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, delivering direct therapy services, and collaborating closely with families, educators, and interdisciplinary team members. The OT is responsible for maintaining accurate clinical documentation, monitoring progress toward goals, and communicating outcomes with caregivers and relevant providers. TLC offers manageable caseloads and a collaborative team environment with therapists across multiple disciplines.

Major Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Evaluate children using age appropriate methods including standardized assessment, informal testing, and observation.
  • Develop a family centered or education based comprehensive treatment plan (Plan of Care) and provide ongoing caregiver/teacher education.
  • Maintain and report necessary data to support progress made on individual goals and objectives.
  • Maintain expected productivity, based on assigned caseload, and maintain documentation in accordance with internal time lines, payer agreements and program policy and procedures.
  • Participate as a member of the child’s team including attending IFSP meetings and parent teacher conferences, and communicating with service coordinators and payers as needed.
  • Learn and follow office routines, including, but not limited to checking and responding to voice mail and emails on a regular basis, faxing letters of medical necessity, keeping therapy areas clean and organized, etc.
  • Participate in meetings including monthly Therapeutic Services meetings, all staff meetings, team meetings with preschool personnel and other meetings as assigned by the Therapeutic Services Manager and Executive Director.
  • Utilize Fusion (electronic health record) to maintain scheduling and note writing.
  • Participate in annual and ongoing trainings required to perform job responsibilities within the Center’s philosophies and policy and procedures or as assigned by the Therapeutic Services Manager or Executive Director.
  • Take personal responsibility for obtaining and maintaining his/her compliance with professional certification and TLC Learning Center regulations.
  • Assist with Center’s efforts to increase community awareness of TLC Learning Center’s services by attending two (2) events (Community Outreach or fundraisers) per year.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy prior to 2007
  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy beginning 2007
  • Occupational Therapist Registered OTR (NBCOT Certification)
  • Occupational Therapist Licensure verified through DORA
  • CPR and First Aid Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Advanced training in SI, NDT or other pediatric area
  • Spanish fluency
  • American Sign Language (ASL)

Physical Requirements

  • Required lifting and transferring of children and equipment (minimum of 10 pounds).
  • Ability to sit and move around on the floor.
  • Ability to drive and provide personal transportation within a 30 minute radius of TLC Learning Center.

SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (part-time/hourly):

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation, diagnosis, and therapy services to children within Early Childhood Education (ECE) , in our therapy spaces, in the community, and in home-based settings. This role involves assessing communication needs, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, delivering direct services, and collaborating with families and interdisciplinary team members. The SLP is responsible for maintaining accurate clinical documentation and communicating progress to caregivers and relevant providers. TLC offers manageable caseloads and a collaborative team environment with therapists across multiple disciplines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech-language screenings and comprehensive evaluations using standardized assessments, informal measures, and clinical observation.
  • Identify speech, language, social communication, voice, fluency, and early feeding concerns across developmental stages, with a primary focus on early childhood.
  • Develop and implement individualized Plans of Care aligned with IFSPs, IEPs, and ECE developmental standards.
  • Utilize play-based, developmentally appropriate, and neurodiversity-affirming intervention strategies.
  • Monitor progress toward goals and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate as an active member of multidisciplinary teams, including IFSP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and transition meetings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and caregivers by offering guidance, strategies, and ongoing communication to support communication-rich learning environments and promote skill carryover at home and in the community.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation including evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Meet productivity expectations and documentation timelines in accordance with internal policies, payer requirements, and program procedures.
  • Utilize Fusion electronic health record system for scheduling and therapy documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, ASHA ethical standards, and state licensure requirements.
  • Follow established office routines, including managing voicemails, emails, letters of medical necessity, and maintaining clean and organized therapy spaces.
  • Attend required meetings, including Therapeutic Services meetings, staff meetings, Educational Services team meetings, and other meetings as assigned.
  • Participate in required training and ongoing professional development aligned with TLC’s philosophies, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Colorado Speech-Language Pathologist license verified through DORA, or eligibility for licensure.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP), or in the process of obtaining (Clinical Fellows considered based on supervision availability). Strong Clinical Fellows (CFYs) may be considered depending on supervision availability.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Proficient with computers and digital tools, including electronic health records, documentation software, and basic office programs, and able to effectively use technology to communicate with families, educators, and team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • School setting experience: working with IEPs, assessments, and collaborating with teachers/staff.
  • Experience working with pediatric and school-age populations with a range of developmental, communication, and learning needs.
  • Experience working with young children in classroom or home-based settings.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move children and classroom materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to sit on the floor, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and move freely throughout classrooms and playgrounds.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to the physical and emotional needs of young children.
  • Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively with children and adults.
  • Ability to sanitize and maintain therapy and classroom materials in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER (on-call/part-time):

Provides classroom coverage for children ages two through five in a preschool setting. This on call role supports the continuity of care and learning when full time teachers are absent due to illness, vacation, or training. The Substitute Teacher helps maintain a nurturing and engaging classroom environment, following established lesson plans and routines while supporting children’s developmental, social, and emotional growth.

Major Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide classroom coverage and instruction according to established lesson plans.
  • Implement daily routines including meals, rest, diapering and outdoor play.
  • Create a welcoming and supportive environment that fosters curiosity, exploration, and learning.
  • Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, teachers, and families as needed.
  • Document attendance and classroom observations as required.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and center policies.
  • Adapt quickly to varying age groups, classroom settings, and teaching styles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and early learning best practices.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a Colorado Professional Early Childhood Credential.
  • Ability to pass FBI background check and fingerprinting within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
  • Experience leading classrooms or implementing curriculum.
  • Bilingual skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry children and classroom materials.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the classroom.
  • Ability to sanitize classroom surfaces and maintain a safe environment.
